The younger sibling of Samsung’s current flagship smartphone which was released last month had Android 4.1.1 installed. Today however the company is shipping these devices using Android 4.1.2 however only in select Asian countries. Verified reports say that the Samsung Galaxy S3 released in Indonesia and Vietnam is running on 4.1.2 straight out of the box.

One important update done on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is that it now includes home screen rotation support. Before this update all Android devices used the portrait mode for their home screens even if the smartphone or tablet is positioned in landscape mode. This made for an awkward user experience.

The Premium Suite upgrade is also available for the S3 mini running on this version of Android. This brings several key features normally found on only on the Galaxy Note 2 such as multi-window and Paper Artist app.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is the younger sibling of the current flagship smartphone of the company which is the Samsung Galaxy S3. This model was released last October 2012 however because of the legal issues between Samsung and Apple this model is not sold in the U.S. Apple has agreed to drop the Galaxy S3 Mini from its lawsuit as long as it won’t be making its way on U.S. shores.

Other regions still don’t have this update and if you can’t wait for it to officially arrive on your device then you can actually flash your device with the update if you know how to do it. You will have to make sure to back up your data before doing so.
